PowerWash Simulator

Project Description

Exactly what it says on the tin! Sit back and relax while you wash away all your woes.

Personal Developments

I'm incredibly proud to call PowerWash Simulator my first published title as a producer. As the AP on this project, I've got hands-on experience managing an early access title, including executing a hotfix with little supervision.

I have also taken ownership of all things text and localisation within the game, as well as managing the bug databases and QA processes.

QA Work

Project Description

A brief description of the QA work I did before I was in production.

Personal Developments

Working as a QA tester gave me a fantastic opportunity to hone the skills  I use as a producer; analysis and problem-solving in figuring out the causes of bugs, and communicating them back to the dev team. During this time, I also worked on consoles, and multiplayer titles.

I was given the responsibility of assisting in leading the team, due to my intuitive nature and ability to effectively and concisely communicate. This had me training other members of the team, writing up test plans, and managing the bug database.

The Lost Commandments

Project Description

In this puzzle game, use your angelic powers of light, heat, destruction, and water to solve the people's problems and spread goodwill.

Personal Developments

My role as the producer had me using Scrum and arranging Sprints to prioritise and delegate team tasks, using Confluence and JIRA to document and manage these, and arranging the appropriate communications between team members to get them done and reach our milestones.

Design-wise, I was in charge of both narrative and UX design on this project, as well as co-designing the game's mechanics.

An Invitation in Gold

Project Description

Manage your political influence to save your noble house in this Tudor Court simulation based on the Field of the Cloth of Gold.

Personal Developments

Using Scrumwise to manage tasks and team velocity to a tight deadline, this project also involved mediating a lot of inter-disciplinary communication to streamline development, and making difficult final decisions in regards to the game's direction and scope. Alongside this, I was frequently arranging and attending meetings with historical research advisors and potential investors.

Game Jams

Project Description

Some of my favourite projects that I have made in 48 hours or less for Game Jams.

Personal Developments

I try to make a point of flexing my creative muscles every year during the Global Game Jam; I love the challenge it poses, and pulling together a finished product is an incredibly satisfying and rewarding endeavour. Comparing the ambitions from the beginning of the project to the final thing also provides an interesting learning experience in terms of scope, task estimates, and the often unseen intricacies of games development.

Theatre Production

Project Description

A selection of theatre projects that I have managed as director and producer, including both traditional plays and immersive theatre experiences.

Personal Developments

The skills of project management translate very well between games and theatre; making sure everyone is doing what they need to be and that they have the tools to do it in order to create an interesting experience for the audience. Improvisational theatre presents a particular challenge in that it requires the building of a team that works well together to respond to any scenario that they are presented with.
